Richmond, VA Railroad Workers' 30th Annual Picnic
Rail workers enjoyed
the Richmond picnic which was continued through the hard work and
efforts of Ray Cunningham, Willie Bates, Jimmy Boone, and many other
volunteers. A good time was had by all. Amtrak and CSX
employees, current and retired, gathered for fish, hush puppies,
burgers, dogs, and fries at the Amtrak railroad station on Staples
Mill Road on October 24, 2009. This picnic was sponsored by the
union members.
You could feel the camaraderie,
brotherhood and sisterhood, of the rail workers, union officers,
and their families. I look forward to this continuing for
the next thirty years and for the opportunity to break bread and
share stories with my fellow union members. I attended the
picnic and met with old and new friends. It was a good day
for all railroad workers and their families that attended and a
good chance for me to renew ties with my fellow union workers and
former co-workers. LOVED THAT FRIED FISH!
See everyone next year.
