Personal by Eddie Wilson
After eleven years of railroad and union work were ended by a disabling
injury, I counted the money from my settlement and realized two
things: first, I could not support myself and my family on what
I received from the railroad injury case; second, I was going to
do something about it. I worked and went to Old Dominion University
graduating as a top scholar. I then attended the University of Richmond
Law School graduating with memberships in the Honor Society and
the Law Review. I mention these not to brag, but to show I am a
hard worker. That is what it takes to win a case, hard work.
A successful injury law career followed. I represented many clients
with injuries that ranged from strained backs to death cases, amputee
cases and quadriplegia cases. Not all my clients won million dollar
awards, but I am proud to say that has happened seven times. The
clients collected their money, even when the railroads and insurance
companies appealed. There are hundreds of my clients who have received
six figure awards and hundreds of others who had less serious injuries
and still received fair compensation. There are no guarantees when
it comes to an accident claim but I am proud of my record
During My Career
During my career, I have been a designated attorney for
national rail unions and have represented injured people on the
east coast and in the mid-west. I am also a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyer's Association. A few years back I retired, caught
a lot of fish, hit a lot of golf balls, and realized I missed the
practice of law and the good feeling of helping others. (Also the
action). I still remember being injured and not getting enough money
for my case. My goal is to make sure you do not say that about your
case.
